Medical massage therapy serves as an in-network therapy service for most insurance plans. Medical massage therapy has a different technical approach than your regular massage therapy services. It is a pathological and functional oriented therapy that offers individualized treatment plans.
This technique is not the typical “spa” massage. We use multiple modalities that we conjoined into one session. Some key modalities used in one treatment are: cupping, heat therapy, active tool tapotement, myofascial release, soft tissue mobilization, connective tissue assessment, pin and stretching, strain-counterstrain, trigger point and many more. We assess and use various techniques to ensure you are progressing within a measurable goal.
This treatment is deemed “medically necessary” by a primary care doctor, chiropractor or orthopedist and requires a doctor’s prescription. It is most appropriate for acute injuries, chronic pain and various other medical conditions.
Chronic pain conditions may include: post- motor vehicle accident recovery, whiplash injuries and work related injuries covered under Workers’ Compensation.
Some applicable medical conditions may include: sports injuries, Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ), fibromyalgia, migraines, headaches, muscle spasms, lower back injuries, multiple sclerosis, etc.
Our pathological based approach focuses on the client’s “root” problem first, not superficial symptomatology. We create a customized therapy session for YOU that changes as you progressively heal.
*This a billable service to most private insurance companies, car insurance, and workers’ compensation deemed medically necessary by a physician. WE DO OFFER REDUCED CASH PRICING PLANS for individuals PLEASE NOTE: We currently do not diagnose at our facility.
